Steel raised the bar of performance for steel shot waterfowl loads. It is a slow-burn rate powder - even a bit slower than Blue Dot, which has traditionally been the favorite of steel shot loaders. This slow burn rate makes it the most consistent when used with heavier loads. In recent years, Steel has found a new use with tungsten-based pellets, and other alliant steel powder in stock high-performance non-toxic hunting loads. Like Unique, Steel is also very alliant steel powder fluffy. Alliant Powder recommends that Steel be scaled. It cannot be dropped through bushings.
